Holly + Kelsey - Pomfret Connecticut
2020 has certainly been a year. So many of our amazing couples’ wedding plans have been uprooted and forced to change in a matter of only a few months.
Holly and Kelsey’s mini wedding day proved that you can have a small intimate wedding that is still full of love, creativity, and perfection.
Using Holly’s grandfather’s home, they set up a tent for their 10 guests, complete with beautifully done flower table runners. When deciding on a menu for their mini wedding, Kelsey and Holly both decided BBQ was right up their alley and served their guests with catered pulled pork, BBQ chicken, mac ‘n cheese, and cornbread!
In order to stay safe in Covid times, each guest received their own personalized bucket that included their own cups, utensils, plates, hand sanitizer, and custom-made “Smiling for Kelsey and Holly” masks!
As their wedding favors, they were completely original with rainbow socks printed with one of the photos from their engagement session on them, as well as customized M&Ms that also had their names, date, and engagement photos on them!
Holly wore her Grandmother’s ring, and stunning shoe buckles on her Converse, while Kelsey enlisted her senior dog Fenway to be her bestest boi.
Intimate weddings tend to be more emotional in general, but to add to this one, Holly had a special gift for Kelsey. Kelsey’s father recorded a video shortly before he passed away, in which he wished the couple congratulations, and how proud he was of his daughter and future daughter in-law. They watched the video together following their first look, as they embraced each other.
From there, we ran around in the snow atop Alfalfa Hill soaking up the perfect sunlight. While their families watched on, Kelsey and Holly recited their hand-written vows to one another and were pronounced wifeys for life by Holly’s sister and officiant Lindsey.
Rather than ride away in style, these two fearless babes decided to sled away! Move over vintage cars, sleds are taking over!
