The Ladyfinger Brides

So many brides! Jess Sinatra, Lyra Vega Bridal, Beauty by Shannon Elaine, and Petal & Ink combined forces to invade the Ladyfinger Tea Lounge at the Garrison Inn in Newburyport, Massachusetts with bridal fashion. oh yeah . . . And I got to go too! For obvious reasons, this was the first fun fashion shoot I have been able to do in a long time and while the theme was still ‘wedding’ (I mean I’m constantly on the wedding video train!), it was open for creative interpretation. Jess’ photos came out fantastically in the vintage-themed Garrison Inn. That pink tea room is simply magnificent and made the perfect backdrop for the dresses provided by Lyra Vega Bridal.

Pro tip: If you can get a dress with pockets, do it! Answer me this: Why the hell is women’s fashion lacking storage options anyway?! Everyone needs pockets and IF you can go without a purse, as a man, I can tell you it’s very convenient to have one less thing to keep track of. That said, it is nice to shove stuff in my wife’s purse when we used to go out and about pre-COVID 19.

I shot this video as a sort of experiment for my wedding work, mixing the color settings among other things as I look to improve the wedding work next year. That made the editing here, specifically the color, somewhat difficult, but I think I did a good job making a funny, pseudo movie trailer out of the footage. I also learned a lot about the limitations of the Panasonic GH5s I own which will help me going forward for wedding videography. Got to love fun shoot where you get to do what you want! The negative side effect, of course, were a few ‘dead’ shots where the colors are a little muted, but I’m happy with the end result.

This off season will find Jess and myself taking it easy as COVID rages back. Hopefully we will be able to organize some more fun shoots in the spring or summer before we get slammed with weddings next year.
